Whether we like to admit it or not, humans are lazy…some more than others.  In trying to find myself and who I am behind closed doors, I have found that I have trouble being responsible about doing things that only I know if I do them or not.  This is a bad quality because basically I am referring to my integrity.  To further explain, such examples are not praying by myself, not reading the bible, not getting up and going to church, as well as not reading for school work, or going to work out.  These things are all things that nobody else would know if I did or didn’t do, but they affect my well being.  To try to battle this, I have to recognize that weakness and do things where I am held accountable to more than myself.  Some might say that is a cop-out or that I’m allowing that weakness to continue, but I say that it’s smart.  It is smart because it allows me to build habits that will end up remaining when nobody else is holding me responsible but myself.  Greek Impact has been one of the things that has made me be accountable to be there and lead worship, therefore giving God an opportunity to work IN me, and maybe more importantly as far as spreading the word, he has the ability to work THROUGH me.  “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”, and I believe leading others in worship, and giving others the opportunity, along with myself, to be involved with God is when I am most satisfied in Him.

October 2005

It was amazing having only gone once my freshman year to a Bring Your Buddies night and then coming two years later to Monday night and seeing how GI has grown. I felt more at home with other Chi Omega’s around me, instead of me being a token Chi Omega with a bunch of my good AD Pi and KD friends at other ministries. Greek Getaway, though really got me to a place where I felt close with other Greeks who are having a good time in life and college, but are also do the love the Lord and feel his peace - especially amidst the rest that was provided along with the sun, playing on the beach, in the ocean, and good food. It was wonderful bonding, and I think it has allowed me to get to know girls who I would want to be coming to Chi Omega Bible study better with some good ole hanging out. Dave's Sunday message for us, focusing on rest, was exactly what we needed to be thinking about and bring back to the lives we have in Chapel Hill, instead of just going right back to our busy lives. All we have to do is realize God is saying "Come to me" and He can meet us anywhere if we simply talk to Him.

... The challenge of both serving as the Director for the Charlotte Greek Conference (2.17-19) AND heading up our local recruiting efforts is becoming evident. Pray for my focus and endurance as I try to do both well.

... Student leader partnership in recruiting for Conference has been difficult. Pray that they would take risks in inviting thier friends to this weekend.

... We are taking the idea of "being fully ALIVE," a step further this semester by tackling what "faith as a way of life" looks like.

... My schedule is packed this semester, as I am discipling 19 men and women and leading three 'team ministry' meetings each week. Pray for my leadership of those students. Also pray that leaders would step up to the challenge to lead their area of ministry focus well.
